Eaing healthy is simple, but not always easy

Eaing healthy is simple, but not always easy

If nutrition feels confusing right now, you’re not imagining it.

Every week there’s a new rule, a new villain, a new miracle food. Even people who care about their health feel overwhelmed.

Andy’s Way was built long before social media told us how to eat. And it was built around one simple idea:

If you get two things right most days, the rest gets a whole lot easier.

The Andy’s Way Baseline

Forget perfection. Forget trends. Start here:

• ~0.8 grams of protein per pound of body weight
• ~30 grams of fiber per day

That’s it. No dogma. No extremes.

Why This Works

1. Muscle matters (especially as we age)
Adequate protein supports muscle maintenance and growth, which drives strength, metabolism, balance, and long-term independence. Muscle isn’t about aesthetics — it’s about resilience.

2. Fiber does the heavy lifting
Fiber supports:

  • A healthier gut microbiome

  • Better blood sugar control

  • Lower inflammation

  • Improved cholesterol

  • More regular digestion

And maybe most importantly…

3. Fiber + protein help activate your natural GLP-1 response
GLP-1 is the hormone that helps you feel full and satisfied. When you eat enough protein and fiber:

  • Hunger signals calm down

  • Cravings lose their grip

  • Portion control becomes automatic

Not because of willpower — because biology is finally on your side.

4. You’re simply too full for junk
When your meals are built on protein and fiber, there’s less room (and desire) for ultra-processed food. You’re not “restricting.” You’re crowding out the stuff that doesn’t serve you.

Great Fiber Sources to Build Around

You don’t need powders or gimmicks to hit 30g. Start stacking real food:

  • Chia seeds

  • Beans & lentils

  • Oats

  • Berries

  • Apples & pears

  • Avocados

  • Sweet potatoes

  • Leafy greens

  • Nuts & seeds

Mix and match. Keep it boring if you want. Consistency beats creativity.

There’s no single right way to eat. But there is a simpler way to stop spinning your wheels.

Eat enough protein.
Eat enough fiber.
Let your body do what it’s designed to do.

That’s Andy’s Way.

— Andy

P.S. If getting protein and fiber in real life feels harder than it should be, we built Andy’s Way for exactly that reason. No hype. Just an easier path to nutrition.
